Our Programs

At Fundación Por Los Animales, our programs focus on prevention, access, and education. Through community-based solutions, we work to reduce animal overpopulation, improve community well-being, and create lasting change for animals and communities across Puerto Rico.

Community Cat TNVR Programs

Our community cat programs follow the TNVR model: Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return. Through this humane approach, community cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped for identification, and returned to their outdoor homes.

These programs are community-based and require the participation of the caregivers or residents requesting assistance. Caregivers are responsible for safely trapping, transporting, and returning the cats, while Fundación Por Los Animales helps make the veterinary services more affordable through subsidized spay and neuter appointments, guidance, and available resources.

TNVR helps prevent future litters, reduces the number of cats living on the streets over time, supports healthier and more stable community cat populations, and contributes to healthier communities.

Spay & Neuter Assistance Programs

We help make spay and neuter services more accessible for cats and dogs belonging to families and individuals with limited financial resources.

Through partnerships with participating veterinarians, these programs help reduce financial barriers to spay and neuter services and prevent unwanted litters before they begin.

By expanding access to affordable spay and neuter services, we help more families provide responsible care for their pets while contributing to long-term population management efforts across Puerto Rico.

Education & Community Outreach

Education plays an important role in creating long-term solutions to animal overpopulation. Through educational resources, guidance, and one-on-one support, we help individuals and communities better understand spay and neuter, TNVR, responsible pet care, vaccination, and humane population management.

We also help connect community caregivers and animal advocates, encouraging collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and local support networks that strengthen ongoing efforts across Puerto Rico.

By empowering people with practical information and resources, we help communities become part of the solution.
